The 34^th Annual ISOTT Conference was held in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, during August 12-17, 2006.

The local organizing committee was composed of the faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students in various disciplines at the University of Louisville, local high school students, and Louisville community volunteers.

For the ISOTT-Louisville conference, in addition to the traditional session topics of ISOTT, a few new topics were introduced, to stimulate our minds:  they were Tissue Engineering and Nano-biotechnology.

Translational Research component was also included in the program, to emphasize the importance of the translation of the basic science study results to the actual application for the human well being.
